Investing in Our People: North Coast's Train the Trainer Program

These extraordinary ambassadors are now bringing everything they gained back home — and will be training the entire North Coast Team, accelerating the customer service standard that North Coast is known for and expects. Their impact will be felt in every conversation, every interaction, and every customer relationship across the region.

Last week, 25 North Coast leaders — including our full Regional and Senior Business Manager teams — came together in San Diego for a two-day Train the Trainer program in partnership with Moran Consulting.

Moran is a nationally recognized customer service and culture change firm with experience across more than 800 organizations in service-driven industries. What sets them apart is their commitment to building curriculum around each client's real operating environment. For North Coast, that meant focused training on the moments that matter most: the leasing tour, maintenance follow-up, difficult resident conversations, and renewals.

The Train the Trainer format was a deliberate choice. Rather than routing our entire field organization through external sessions, we identified a select group of leaders who already exemplify the service standard we hold ourselves to — and equipped them with the skills, content, and confidence to carry this work back to their regions. The result is an internal bench of trainers who can deliver onboarding, refreshers, and ongoing coaching consistently and at scale.

The feedback from participants has been strong. Our Regional and Senior Business Managers left San Diego aligned on a shared service vocabulary and a common standard — something that will be felt in every resident interaction across the portfolio.

This program is part of a broader initiative at North Coast to elevate the apartment experience by investing in our people. For our residents, that investment translates directly into better service. For our team members, it means real development and a culture that takes excellence seriously.
