Two North Coast Communities Rank Among the Country's Best for Resident Satisfaction

Every year, J Turner Research publishes its MSA ORA® Power Ranking, naming the top-performing rental communities in the ten most populous markets in the country. This year, the teams at two North Coast communities made that list again.
Out of roughly 150,000 communities, The Lark in San Mateo, California, ranked #1 in the San Francisco-Oakland market, a market of more than 4.6 million people, with an ORA score of 97. The Upland in Upland, California, ranked #3 in the San Bernardino-Ontario market, a market of more than 4.7 million people, with an ORA score of 94.
Online reputation has become one of the more reliable signals of operational quality in multifamily housing, and it matters directly to renters, too: in a July 2026 survey of nearly 27,000 U.S. renters, Apartments.com found that 96% say reviews are important to their decision-making process.
